The Company:

Olhausen, originally a retail butcher shop (1896) in Talbot St. Dublin, has evolved through organic growth, merger and acquisition into one of Ireland’s foremost suppliers of traditional quality pork based meats.

Now a thriving marketing, distribution and manufacturing company, it employs over 200 people. New state-of-the-art distribution and production facilities at its headquarters in Blanchardstown, Dublin are augmented by further production facilities in Coolock, Dublin and Lough Egish, Co. Monaghan.

Distribution is centralised in Blanchardstown but supported in Ireland by hubs in Cork and Galway. Overseas markets are covered by a network of distributors.

The Product Range:

Best known for sausages and puddings, Olhausen also supplies a full range of bacon and pork products.

As a leader in the Irish sausage market Olhausen has become a key supplier to the major players in the Irish retail and foodservice sectors. The development of new products to satisfy market needs in premium, flavoured, ethnic and healthy options is putting the company to the forefront of developments in the Irish sausage market.

Olhausen award winning puddings continue to be enjoyed by the Irish public and the launch of the West Cork range of puddings in 2005 has added extra variety to its traditional range.

Olhausen offer wholesome and natural bacon, cured in a traditional fashion. Recently Olhausen has enhanced its bacon range with a selection of new oven-ready bacon joints. The bacon range also includes traditional rashers for the retail and foodservice markets as well as microwaveable back bacon.

Other pork, bacon and cooked meat products are aimed almost exclusively at the foodservice sector, either directly or through a network of long standing wholesale customers.

Responding to the requirements of its wide customer base in the foodservice sector, in recent times Olhausen has added other meat species to its product portfolio including beef, lamb and chicken.
